"Prior to joining MAN v FAT, I wanted to get back to playing football, I was always overlooked due to my size and not being able to last more 5 minutes, it resulted in not believing in myself and I started to drink and smoke more. My lifestyle at that point was heading towards a future heart attack. Something needed to be done I thought to myself. A close friend of mine mentioned he was part of a group of lads called MAN v FAT and for a while tried to get me to go, I was apprehensive about joining but it’s the best decision I have ever made, changing my life for the better in all aspects and added a few years extension to being alive. During my journey I have lost a lot of weight (totalling 29.5%), I now reside in healthy BMI, and that would not have been at all possible, if it wasn’t for all the lads and coach Callum in the Oldbury league, which I’m proud to call ‘family’" Gary Doleman
